The Association of Academic Qualitative Research Likeminds (AAQREL) is a professional organization committed to fostering excellence in qualitative research across the African continent. Established with the goal of strengthening qualitative inquiry, AAQREL provides a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and capacity building among individuals engaged in this research tradition. The association was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on January 27, 2023, and is headquartered in Nigeria. AAQREL acts as a vibrant hub for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students who share an interest in qualitative research methodologies. It serves as a space where ideas are exchanged, innovative approaches are explored, and professional development is encouraged. Through workshops, conferences, training programs, and collaborative projects, the association aims to support both emerging and established researchers in improving the quality and impact of their work. The association has grown rapidly since its inception and now boasts a membership of over 1,000 individuals. These members come from across the five major regions of Africa West Africa, South Africa, North Africa, East Africa, and Central Africa making AAQREL a truly pan-African organization. This wide representation strengthens the diversity of perspectives within the association and allows for more inclusive conversations around qualitative research practices and challenges in different contexts.
